Be victorious by trusting God
We have all been called to a lifelong following of Jesus Christ. Now we continue to look at some activities to do on a daily basis that will help you to know Christ more and to follow him closely!
Overcome doubt and fear
Sometimes you will doubt that you are a child of God, because Satan will try to bring condemnation, fear and doubt by pointing out to you your shortcomings. When that happens you must remember that you are not saved by good works or your own goodness, but only because of what Jesus Christ did for you on the Cross. Remember that because of Jesus Christ you are:
1. Redeemed and forgiven (Ephesians 1:7)
2. Safe in his hands (John 10:27-29)
3. Secure in his love, from which no one can separate you (Romans 8:31-39)
4. Kept by his power (1 Peter 1:3-5)
Meditate on these verses from the Scripture. Don’t trust your own emotions but put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and his word to you in the Bible! Then you will find great peace as you continue to follow him!
Take one day at a time!
Too often we are anxious about all kinds of future problems. Most of what we worry about never happens! Jesus Christ teaches us to live one day at a time and to trust that our heavenly Father will look after us and meet our daily needs.
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:25-34)
Let God, the Almighty, help you throughout each day! He is able to take care of you and meet all your needs! Remember:
1. Do not be anxious about anything (Philippians 4:6-7)
2. Cast all your anxiety on him (1 Peter 5:7)
3. Forget what is behind and press on towards what is ahead (Philippians 3:13-14)
4. God will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrew 13:5)
5. God will meet all your needs through Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:19)
