Learn important Bible verses by heart

Today’s teaching is very short, but it will be of great benefit to you if you put it into practice. If you want to become a strong believer you must memorise the word of God, learn it by heart and store it in your innermost being. Then it will guide you and strengthen you in your daily walk of life.

Learn important verses by heart.

To learn God’s Word by heart is the same as writing it on the tablet of our heart as the Bible says we must do (Deut. 11:18, Pro. 7:1-3). Storing God’s Word in our hearts and minds will help us to always know God’s will and be able to do what is right. By hiding God’s Word in our hearts we become strong and are kept pure. The best ballast we can have in life is to store God’s Word in our memories since we can then avoid sin and can make the right decisions (Ps. 119:9,11, 1.John 2:14).

Jesus was victorious over the devil by quoting words of Scripture to him and in this way showing that he was under God’s authority. If we know the Word of God by heart, we can also be victorious in the same way (Matt. 4:4,7,10).

If we store up God’s Word in our heart our lives become firm and steadfast. When we know God’s Word by heart, we need not be moved because we know God’s will. If we fill ourselves with God’s Word, our way of life and our character will become firm and strong (Ps. 37:30-31).

If we have learned God’s Word by heart and know where to find it in the Bible, we stand strongly when unsaved people challenge us. We can reply to those who mock and scoff and who want us to give an explanation of or a reason for the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15, Ps. 119:42).

After 24 hours you will probably remember exactly:
